Details of how you can help us today!
Planning an event for the Kanyike Project does not need to be complicated. There are so many ways in which you can organise an event which is both fun for you, but which helps to raise money for this fantastic community.
But there are many other events which can be fun for all! Here are just a few ideas:
- Hold a cake sale
- Plan a face painting stall at a local village or school event
- Children: get sponsorship to clean the house for a day, mirroring the work of African children
- Hold a sponsored walk or swim
- Plan a summer barbeque
The possibilties are endless!

The people in this picture were attending a 'Frugal Ball' in aid of the Kanyike Project, where everyone had to wear something they'd bought from a charity shop...
This is a fund raising event organised by a group in St Hugh's Parish and held in Fortescue Hall. They had an afternoon tea complete with extra fundraising raffles - everyone had a fantastic time and it's all for a good cause!!

Children from St. Christopher’s School near Totnes walked six miles through Staverton woods. The children were sponsored to carry small pails of water around the circuit so that they could experience in a small way what pupils in the school in Kanyike Project have to do several times a day for their very basic needs.

Victoria Kennington, Headmistress at St Christopher's School, Staverton completed a marathon and wrote the following.
"It was my first ever marathon, and took place in Llanelli on a beautiful Spring day, it took me a little over 5 hours to complete- slower than I had hoped for- but due to a torn calf muscle, after 4 miles. The course was two laps of a 13 mile route along the millennium cycle path (totally flat, thank goodness) and I was cheered on all the way by my husband, 3 children and my parents. I am not convinced I will attempt another one soon, the training was all-consuming- but I was delighted to raise the money for Magejjo School and very thankful to all those who sponsored me, especially the parents and children at St Christopher’s."

A Supper Concert was held at Fortescue Hall, Letchworth in early December. The varied programme of music for piano, voice, harp and flute was enjoyed by the audience, which, happily, included Father Kakuba himself. The two-course supper was welcomed by all, in particular, the wide variety of desserts and glass of wine which made for a very relaxed second half of the concert.
