Information about the activities of the Youth Group
The Youth Group was established in February 1988, with the aim of bringing all the young people in the village together encourage them to engage in activities and training. The Group is led by Father Kakuba - Kapia's brother, Ssempijja, who helps with training workshops, and the organisation of activities wihin the village.

The Youth Group meet at least once a month to report on activities, and to exchange knowledge and experience. Many of the members of the group run their own small, profitable activities. One member, David, worked as a casual labourer to obtain funds to start his own garden, where he grows ginger. Rather than selling this crop, he is multiplying his prduce to get more seeds for a larger garden.
The leader of the Youth Group organises trips to an agricultural college, where the group receive a day of training regarding crops and animal welfare - all tips which help the group members to be independent farmers
Madeline receives help and support from the Youth Group. She is currently looking after three pigs belonging to a friend, but when these have piglets she will keep some and start her own piggery.
The Youth Group is also engaged elsewhere within the Project, and work hard helping Dan, the HIV/AIDS Counsellor.
The Youth Group also play a variety of sports, and were provided with a football by the Project.
